The NYC Venture Philanthropy Fund (VPF) was founded on a simple idea:
the collective power of individual effort can make a difference.
VPF is a giving circle of individuals who invest in social entrepreneurs focused on tackling persistent social and economic problems in New York City.
We seek to harness the vitality, ingenuity and incomparable resources of New York City for the benefit of all of its residents by investing in those that are finding transformative solutions to critical issues, growing and educating a highly diverse membership about the power of collective giving, and by joining forces with thought leaders, activists and like-minded organizations.
small money, big change.
Since its inception in 2008, VPF has partnered with:
Concrete Safaris a start up group in East Harlem, founded to empower youth to be healthy leaders through green exercise programs that enrich their mind, body, community, and environment.
Brooklyn Young Mothers Collective a relatively new organization that provides disadvantaged young mothers with a comprehensive set of services focused on their educational attainment and social development to help them to become self-sufficient adults.
Full Circle Education runs a program that identifies, enrolls and trains promising New York City public school students in a groundbreaking, student-driven tutoring program to increase their core SAT scores above 1000.
