Given VPF’s focus for the 2009/10 grant year is on helping social entrepreneurs engage with issues of poverty in our city, we want to kick off the first in a series of events at a location that also feels passionately about addressing issues of sustainability, poverty and community engagement.
Angelika Kitchen brings sustainability and community engagement to the center of their business. This means not only using ingredients that are ecological and sustainable, such as local produce and Fair Trade ingredients, but also using energy efficiently, composting, recycling and actively donating their food to City Harvest – an organization that collects and distributes food to our city’s hungriest men, women and children.
